    The Checotah Chamber of Commerce has been proudly promoting the city of Checotah, OK since 1946. Ours is a place that teems with progress here and there, a fit place for citizens to live in comfort and in peace. Aside from being famous as the world’s capital for steer wrestling, there is more to know and to discover about our progressive town.   • The City of Checotah is putting on its annual Freedom Fest on July 4th. 

    With events and activities all day for ALL AGES! Beginning at 1am with our 5k and fun run, events end at 3:30PM with our mud obstacle course. BUT the fun keeps going with live music at 7pm and a firework displace, that in previous years has been the largest in the county, set off by our very own City of Checotah! 

    The Freedom Fest will also feature arts/crafts vendors and food trucks! Make sure Checotah is in your plans on the 4th!
